The College of Arts & Media, Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies has an opening for a full-time Clinical Teaching Track in Recording Arts (an unclassified) position. Teaching assignments will have a start date of August 2023, will require an 80% teaching load. The incumbent will be accountable for teaching courses related to music production, digital audio, live sound, surround sound, music synthesis, and audio for post-production, as well as any additional music courses as required by the MEIS Department and will need to possess the ability to teach undergraduate courses, and engage in research, creative work, and service. The continuance of this appointment will be based on merit/performance, budget, and enrollment numbers.

Examples of Work Performed:

Teaching (80%)

1. Teach a 3/3 course load (18 total credit hours per academic year) in the following areas of recording arts: music production, digital audio, live sound, surround sound, music synthesis, and audio for post-production, as well as any additional music courses as required by the MEIS Department, at both the undergraduate and graduate course levels
2. Professors are responsible for the preparation of course content, syllabi, lectures, presentations, and student assignments; evaluation of student work; tracking and progress of student attendance and engagement; student advisement, management of course in online platform Canvas; etc.
3. All other duties and projects as requested

Research & Creative Work (10%)

1. Engage in professional and academic community through publications, recordings, performances, multimedia, and professional development areas
2. Produce professional work through scholarly and creative activity

Service (10%)

1. Engage in and contribute to the function and operations of the department, as defined by the department chair
2. Work with the broader community in representing the university, department, and students
