Title: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Music (Music Business)

Position Summary:

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music seeks an innovative educator to collaborate on the establishment of a new Music Business degree within the Music Industry department.

Responsibilities:

*Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Music Business.
*Lead the Music Business program as associate chair, working with the chair of the Music Industry department.
*Teach courses in one or more areas of expertise, including: professional ethics, media monetization, media distribution, or intellectual property law.
*Maintain an active portfolio of research and creative activity in the field. *Maintain involvement with appropriate professional organizations such as SCL, RIAA, G.A.N.G., SGA, ASCAP/BMI, and NARAS.
*Foster Collaboration with other Indiana University units, especially the Kelley School of Business.
*Develop music industry professional connections that benefit the Music Industry department and its students.
*Student advising, student recruitment, and service on departmental and Jacob School committees is expected.

Basic Qualifications:

A record of accomplishment in music publishing, supervision, monetization, distribution, and contracts. Master's degree in business or related field required. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Experience in teaching and curriculum development within a university setting is highly valued, as is a passion for mentoring and advising students on their academic and professional journeys.

Salary and Rank:

Open rank. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
