The Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2022.
Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate classes (24 credit hours per year) in the field of music business, as well as participating in academic advising, student mentoring, research and scholarly activity, and college and university service. Comprehensive knowledge of the music industry is required. Courses taught may include Data Analytics, Digital Music Marketing, Entrepreneurship in the Music Industry, Marketing in the Music Industry, Record Company Operations, and Social Media in Artist Management. The ideal candidate is an expert in the areas of streaming, digital marketing, digital assets, strategies, social media and the role the traditional record companies currently play in an artist’s career. Focusing on the digital aspects of the music business, such ideal candidate would develop new courses and improve existing courses that recognize the changing landscape of the music business and how the industry can rapidly adapt to technological advancements. Doctorate degree or demonstrated progress toward a terminal degree is strongly preferred. Master’s degree will be considered. Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
