Columbia College Chicago is an urban institution of over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students emphasizing arts, media, and communications in a liberal arts setting.
The Department of Arts, Entertainment and Media Management (AEMM) is a vibrant mix of more than 100 full-time and part-time faculty preparing students for careers managing cultural institutions and businesses and preparing future artists for self-sustaining careers in their field of choice. AEMM students concentrate in one of six areas: music business, visual arts management, live & performing arts management, media management, sports management or advanced management. AEMM students learn to appreciate the value of the arts; to understand the economic, social and political climate in which they operate; and to anticipate the challenges and opportunities of the future.
AEMM is seeking applications for a Tenure-track Faculty-Entrepreneurship and Strategy beginning August 16, 2013.
The Department of AEMM is seeking applicants with a proven professional and/or academic background in Entrepreneurship and strategic planning in entertainment, media, music, performance or visual arts management. Candidates with online and distance learning skills are preferred.
• A successful track record in Entrepreneurship and strategic planning in the Arts, Entertainment and Media fields.
• An understanding of the impact of digital technologies on the arts, entertainment and media fields.
• Demonstrated experience in distance learning and / or executive education programs.
• Demonstrated or strong potential for success in teaching at college level.
• Willingness to actively advise and work with students outside the classroom.
• A Master's degree or higher in management, music, media or related field; outstanding equivalent professional experience may be considered.
