| Entertainment Management Faculty Bay State College Bay State College located in Boston's Back Bay is a private college whose mission is to provide students with a quality education that prepares them for professional careers and increasing levels of higher education. Bay State College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Entertainment Management Faculty position focusing on the Music Industry starting in the fall 2010 semester. The ideal candidate will be a successful scholar-practioneer combing up-to-date best practices from the field, recent scholarship and teaching experience at the college level. Qualifications : · Ph.D. in Music Marketing, New Media Marketing, Music Industry, or related field · Teaching Experience · Recent Professional Experience in the Field · Curriculum Development experience As a faculty member of Bay State the following would apply: Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning in the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment. Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, life-long learning, diversity, and ethics as well as personal and professional development. Provide career education through learner-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. Teaching/Advising/Curriculum Responsibilities: · Teach 7 courses per academic year, or their equivalent · Assist with designing, developing, writing and revising course curricula and syllabi · Review and advise regarding course texts as needed · Develop new courses and curricula as needed · Assist with departmental initiatives for students in need of remedial help · Assist with providing book and material advice and development for the college library · Advise 30-40 students per semester · Assist with facilitation of sub-departmental meetings for all adjunct (twice per semester: beginning and end) to discuss, review, and revise course curricula · Assist with coordination with other academic departments and divisions to maintain coherence of curriculum with regard to current technology/general education needs · Perform research into field(s) of expertise to ensure continued relevancy of curriculum Administrative Responsibilities: · Attend all college-wide functions: 2 open houses per year (usually Saturdays) - to meet and assist prospective new students to the college · Awards and Graduation ceremony (usually one Sunday per year) 3-4 orientations per year - to meet and assist students who are new to the college (scheduled during regular workday) · Other events and functions as announced · Committee participation (1 or more committees) · Assist with faculty development initiatives · Assist Program Chair and Department Chair with other administrative responsibilities as needed · Other administrative tasks as needed Should you meet the qualifications and are interested in applying for the position, please send your resume with cover letter and three professional references to: Patrick Preston, LP.D.
