POSITION DESCRIPTION: Greenville College is seeking a full-time, faculty member in Music Business beginning August 2008.  Tenure track is possible depending on qualifications of the candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS: We strongly desire a candidate with a background and degree in marketing.  Master’s or doctorate in a relevant academic discipline is required.  The ideal candidate will have music business experience and have developed a network of contacts in the music industry. Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching and committed to serving as role models for students within a Christian academic community. A vibrant personal Christian faith commitment is required

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary teaching responsibilities will likely include Music Business Survey, Album Marketing and Promotion, Marketing (for the Management Department), Artist and Tour Management, and International Record Companies.  The Music Business Major at Greenville College integrates courses from both the music and management departments and the successful candidate will be involved in helping to grow the major. 

COMPENSATION: Salary is based on academic preparation and years of relevant experience. The College also provides a generous benefits package that includes health, disability, and retirement plans, as well as a tuition waiver for dependents at Greenville College and a tuition exchange program with 80+ other Christian colleges.

MANAGEMENT AND MUSIC DEPARTMENTS: This position entails a joint appointment in both the Management and Music Departments.  These are two of the strongest in the College.  The Music Department houses the College’s largest major (Contemporary Christian Music) and has eight full-time faculty and 2.5 FTE adjuncts.  The Management Department has grown by more than 30% in the last two years and currently has three full-time faculty members and one FTE adjunct.  The music business major was begun officially in the fall of 2006.  After only a year and a half it is among the five most popular majors on campus.

GREENVILLE COLLEGE: The College is located 50 miles east of St. Louis in an attractive residential community of approximately 8,000 people. Greenville College was founded in 1892 and has a rich heritage of affiliation with the Free Methodist Church, yet draws students from 40+ denominations.
