II. MEIEA 2010 Strategic Plan
Statement of MEIEA Purpose: “To bring music educators together with leaders of the music and entertainment industry with the purpose of facilitating an exchange of information between educators and professionals in order to prepare students for careers in the music and entertainment industries.”
Overarching Statement: The purpose of this plan is to define the current and recommend future initiatives that support the objectives of MEIEA and will cause the association to progress toward becoming a sustainable and financially strong organization.
Strategic Plan Action Items
Initiative 1: Raise the Visibility, Status, and Awareness of the MEIEA Journal
Initiative 2: Build an Infrastructure to Capture MEIEA Conference Content for Distribution
Initiative 3: Utilize MEIEA Currently Owned Conference Video and Audio Content for Web Distribution
Initiative 4: Renovate the Conference Production Structure to be More Effective and Profitable
Initiative 5: Initiate a Yearly Educators’ Event
Initiative 6: Modify Current Action Plans to further meet the needs and interests of the active, institutional,
and student memberships.
