Nomination, Voting, and Election Process -- Summary
The online voting
process comprises two phases:
(1) Nomination and confirmation, and
(2) Voting.
The election process will begin in November and will end December 31 of each year.
1. Nomination and confirmation phase. (November)
Any Active member in good standing may nominate any other Active member in good standing for an open position on the board. The nomination may take place via any acceptable communication process such as e-mail, phone, etc. The member making the nomination can contact any Board Member or the Administrative Assistant to make their nomination known. The Board Member must then pass the nomination and contact information for that nominee to the Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will then verify the nominee's membership status, confirm the nomination with the nominee, and secure a nominee questionnaire from the nominee. After verification and receipt of the completed nominee questionnaire the nominee will be placed on the slate of candidates.
2. Voting Phase. (December) Members will log-on to a secure voting website and will be allowed to vote once for each open position. Individual votes by members will remain undisclosed and confidential. Only the final result(s) will become public knowledge.
Newly elected members will be notified within seven (7) days of the close of voting and are expected to attend the pre- and post-conference spring board meetings as well as the annual fall board meeting.
