About the Authors
Ray D. Waddell is Executive Director, Content
and Programming, Touring and Live Entertainment at the Billboard
Information Group, and spearheads the annual Billboard Touring
Conference each fall. Staying on top of industry
trends, his weekly column, “On the Road”, keeps
him in regular touch with agents, promoters, artist managers,
business and venue mangers, ticketing agencies, and everyone
else associated with this business of concerts. He lives
in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Rich Barnet
is a professor in the Department of Recording Industry at
Middle Tennessee State University, where he
teaches Concert Promotion and Advanced Concert Promotion.
Prior to his academic career, Barnet toured major
arenas as a music director, managed a concert series, and
also owned a regional booking agency. He is co-author of
Controversies of the Music Industry. Barnet lives in Nashville,
Tennessee.
Jake
Berry, co-owner of Production Alliance, one of the
premiere production management companies today. He has
been production manager for tours such as Tina Turner’s
“Twenty Four Seven Millennium” and the Rolling
Stones’
“No Security,” “Bridges to Babylon,”
and “Voodoo Lounge.” Berry has also worked in
production management for
Madonna, AC/DC, Metallica, Shakira, and Mötley Crüe.
He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
