HARRIS INSTITUTE INSTALLS SSL AWS 900+ CONSOLE

The Harris Institute has installed the Solid State Logic AWS 900+ Console and the SSL X Logic X-Rack in Control Room A of its studio facilities.

The AWS 900 won Mix Magazine’s TEC Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement for Large Format Console Technology in 2005 and the X Logic X-Rack was nominated for the TEC Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement for Small Format Console Technology in 2007.

A training session with Solid State Logic Partnership Manager Quinton Nixon was attended by the studio’s designer Martin Pilchner, HHB President Dave Dysart, Long & McQuade’s Jeff Long and faculty members Doug McClement, Robert DiGioia, Tom Heron, Mark McLay, David Baxter, John Harris and Studio Manager Chris Munro.

“The AWS is now the preeminent compact large format console”, says the college’s President, John Harris. “As large studios continue to be replaced by an increasing number of smaller project studios, the AWS is the console our graduates will most likely encounter.”
