Faculty Position in Music Business/Management
Berklee College of Music

The Music Business/Management Department within the Professional Education Division is now accepting applications for TWO full-time faculty positions.

The duties associated with the first position will include: teaching traditional business courses such as management, accounting, business leadership and ethics, business communications, and developing new courses that focus on entrepreneurship and e-commerce. The ideal candidate will possess high-level academic and professional credentials, with one or more advanced degrees in the arts, business, or communications disciplines, as well as professional experience in the music industry.

The duties associated with the second position will include: teaching courses in areas such as marketing, economics, computer applications, legal aspects, and developing new courses that focus on advertising/sales and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will possess high-level academic and professional credentials, with one or more advanced degrees in the arts, business, law, or computer science disciplines, as well as some professional background in marketing/sales, economics, and/or law, preferably related to music industry environments.

Additional duties for each position include: advising students in their academic progress and application of course substance, and in matters related to curriculum and degree requirements; engaging in activities related to college service and professional development; participating in department meetings and other department-sponsored events; maintaining and cultivating new relationships with the music industry; and working with the department in its ongoing review, revision, and development of the MB/M program and curriculum.

Qualified candidates will have college-level classroom teaching experience, preferably in a music business/industry program; skill and comfort with computer business applications and online information/communication systems; and excellent interpersonal skills.
