Renzer is Worldwide
President of Universal Music Publishing Group, responsible for
overseeing the global activities of Universal Music Publishing Group’s
47 offices in 41 countries. Since Renzer joined Universal (formerly
MCA) in 1996, it has become a powerful global leader and achieved
tremendous growth. With the acquisition of Rondor, UMPG owned or
administrated copyrights more than tripled to more than 1 million, the
number of worldwide offices more than doubled and company’s revenues
and EBIDTA have grown by over 500 percent. Renzer also started a Latin
Music Division in 1996, which has since grown to eleven offices in ten
countries and won ASCAP’s Latin Music Publisher of the Year three
years-in-a row. Among many achievements under Renzer’s direction are
102 Grammy nominations in 2002 and BMI Publisher of the Year, 2001.
Renzer participated in negotiating and signing the Cannes Accord, and
UMPG has been a proactive participant in such International Agreements
as the Far East M.O.U., the Online M.O.U. and the continued monitoring
of the Cannes Accord. Renzer began his career at Zomba Music Publishing
where he rose through the ranks to Sr. VP & General Manager. Renzer
sits on the Board of ASCAP and the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund of the
T.J. Martel Foundation. He is also chairman of The Jewish Federation’s
Entertainment Committee/Music Division. As the Publishing Chair for the
City of Hope Campaign, Renzer founded the Songs of Hope Celebrity Sheet
Music Auction. Renzer received his Bachelor of Arts from New York
University. |
